What is Motability

WHAT IS THE MOTABILITY SCHEME?

The Motability Scheme offers a unique all-inclusive leasing package, designed to help people in receipt of the higher rate mobility allowance get mobile. For over 40 years the Motability Scheme has helped about four million people simply and easily lease a new, affordable car by exchanging their allowance for the monthly payments. There may be one-off Advance Payments also required. Currently there are over 615,000 customers enjoying the benefits of the Scheme.

BENEFITS.

Through the contract hire scheme you can lease a new car every three years for up to three drivers including insurance, all servicing & maintenance, windscreen repair and tyre replacement, breakdown cover, car tax, 60,000 mileage allowance or 100,000 for Wheelchair Adapted Vehicles. Many adaptations are at no extra cost.

ELIGIBILITY.

If you receive the Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (HRMC DLA); the Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP); the War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS) or the Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP) and you have at least 12 months remaining on your award, you may be eligible to join the Motability Scheme. For more information on eligibility visit the Motability website or call 0800 093 1000.

ADAPTIONS.

BMW have your motoring experience at the heart of everything they do. On BMW cars you will find technology and features that make your driving and travelling easier and more comfortable such as automatic transmission, push button ignition, height adjustable seats and voice activated controls. However, BMW understands that you may require adaptations to make your BMW safer and more suited to your needs. Many of the most popular adaptations are now available at no extra cost at the start of your contract hire lease. Some adaptations will require an extra cost in addition to your Advance Payment. The Motability Managed Adaptations Programme is always there to oversee the adaptations process and ensure all work is carried out by an approved installer.
